Hi, I’m Gina.
I’m a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW), and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). I hold a Master of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Throughout my years of experience supporting children, adolescents, students, and adults, I have provided clinical counselling, assessment, and emotional support to individuals and families in a wide range of settings, including hospital, private practice, community/ peer support groups, post-secondary institutions, and residential treatment environments.
During this time, I have supported individuals experiencing concerns including anxiety, mood disorders, self-esteem issues, anger, learning and developmental disorders, and behavioural and emotional dysregulation challenges. I have also supported individuals as they navigated significant stress, domestic violence, relationship challenges, major life transitions, grief, and loss.
I provide support and education to individuals and families across a broad range of topics including relationship building, parenting support, communication, stress management, safety planning, and coping skill development.
I am passionate about providing safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental therapy services that encourage clients to build upon existing resilience, let go of things that no longer serve them, find clarity, and most importantly, identify how to thrive in their daily lives.
I understand that when seeking counselling and mental health support, it can be difficult to know where or how to begin, and I would be honored to support you on your journey. You don’t have to navigate life challenges on your own. If you are seeking support to move towards your most fulfilled self and improved quality of life, I would love to meet with you!
My Approach to Counselling
My approach to counselling is very collaborative, client-centered, and I draw from a range of evidence-based practices. This helps me to provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space where we will work together to understand and identify goals that will help move you towards your ideal life. Each individual’s goals are entirely unique, and sessions are therefore tailored to meet you exactly where you are, then guide you in the direction you wish to go.
If you are reading this, you may be feeling somehow stuck in your daily life. I provide a trauma-informed, empathic space where you can feel comfortable navigating the challenges, stressors, and tough questions life brings. I draw on an individual’s strengths in order to empower change and healing; in essence, to help get you unstuck. I will walk alongside you as we explore different skills, tools, and ways of thinking in order to create change.
I appreciate that your decision to begin counselling requires courage and trust. I will check in regularly to ensure that you feel heard, understood, and that you are progressing towards your goals. I also provide a free 15 minute initial phone consultation so we can get to know each other and see if I would be the right fit to support you. Book yours now.
I provide secure and confidential virtual counselling services so that you can easily access counselling from the comfort of your own home.
